Hindi Alphabet

  • Devanagari (देवनागरी) is an Abugida script used to write numerous languages of south Asian country. It also called Devanagari Lipi. Devanagari is a conjunction of Sanskrit Language (term): deva + Nagari. The term Deva refers to “god,” and the term Nagari refers to “script or lipi of the city”.
  • Devanagari is a Unicode block containing characters for writing languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Sindhi, Nepali, and Sanskrit, among others. In its original incarnation, the code points U+0900.U+0954 were a direct copy of the characters A0-F4 from the 1988 ISCII standard.

Devanagari Script Alphabet

Learning the Hindi alphabet is very important because its structure is used in every day conversation. Without it, you will not be able to say words properly even if you know how to write those words. The better you pronounce a letter in a word, the more understood you will be in speaking the Hindi language.
